Tuffy scored 103 points of 105 at the trail. This included standing still for 3 min., serpentine through a cone pattern, backing straight through rails. Then you had to pick up an unwilling pack mule and cross a bridge, cross water, go up a 6" bank, and complete a switch back. I was well pleased with him, especially as a two year old.

Thanks Again,
Mark

Deb,

Just checking in. Tuffy is doing excellent. I have become a Clinton Anderson fan and I'm trying his methods out on the mule. Tuffy is doing excellent with those methods. I've been working on yielding the hindquarters (thanks, he already knew this cuz you taught him), forequarters and backing up along with lunging and changing directions. He has a lot of respect for me and does everything that I ask of him ( with some minimal resistance on things that he doesn't know). He's really desensitized to a flopping bag and flinging ropes. I've been working with the dreaded blue tarp, but he still doesn't trust that thing! It's a long process. Flexing is easy for him. He is really fluid when I ask him to touch his ribcage with his nose. Doesn't resist.

He follows my body language when I step in front of him to change directions on the lunge. Yielding the forequarters, he even has started to pin his ears and pivot on his rear end. As you can see, I'm really proud of his progress!

I've been meaning to get Ed to take his photo when he pivots and pins his ears...good for your web page! I can't believe how smart he is and how fast that he gets things. One day he struggles, the next day he gets it like an old pro. I sure wouldn't hesitate to buy a sibling to him if I ever need another mule!
